The Blue Gargoyle’s Employment Program provides free job training and job placement services to the economically disadvantaged, unemployed and underemployed residents on the south side of Chicago, focusing primarily on job placement as a positive outcome. The ultimate goal of this program is to provide participants with the skills and the emotional development needed to facilitate their growth and their ability to become independent and self-sufficient in today’s society.

Program Eligibility Adult

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Must be low income individual

Program Eligibility Youth

  • Must be 14-21 years of age ( In or out of school)
  • Must reside between 35 th and Western to 95 th and the lake
  • Be authorized to work in the U.S
  • Must be low income individual, deficient in basic literacy skills, a high school drop out, homeless/runaway, pregnant or parent, or an ex-offender.

Mandatory Documents needed to make an appointment (Youth & Adult)

  • Birth Certificate
  • Drivers license or State ID (with current residence)
  • Social Security Card
  • Proof of monetary low income ( i.e. Check Stubs, TANF)
  • Proof of Selective Service registration for males 21 years and older

Our Employment Program happily serves a diverse community of clients, and with our trained job developers and case managers working closely with our clients, we assist both client and employers in making a smooth transition.
